About Dr. Sylvia

I (she/they) am a bilingual Spanish-speaking acupuncturist and herbalist. I have a Doctorate in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine from the Pacific College of Health Science and a Master in Public Health from the University of Illinois Chicago. My professional experiences include years of organizing, advocacy, birth work, and public health research.

I was first introduced to acupuncture in my early 20’s. Since childhood, I have experienced frequent colds and seasonal allergies which left me feeling so depleted. I didn’t want to continue taking over-the-counter medication which masked rather than treated the underlying issue. After receiving acupuncture, herbal medicine and lifestyle recommendations, I experienced great relief, and through the process, developed a more depthful relationship with my body.  This sparked my curiosity to eventually study and practice traditional medicine.
